Being a travel enthusiast, it’s my passion to discover new places & explore the natural beauty around me. I have visited various beautiful places in Rajasthan in the past few years. Still, if someone asks me to pick one location I have enjoyed the most while seeing the historic places, scenic beauty, religious sites, nature & wildlife all at once, then Udaipur would be my first preference. Udaipur is one of the few places in India that have remained a centre of attraction for tourists for many years now. It has also earned the title Venice Of The East and is ranked as the most beautiful city in the world. To help you explore this beautiful art of nature, I have mentioned some places you can visit and make your trip memorable.
Let me help you with a list of my favourite Scenic View Destinations in Udaipur.
Lake Pichola
Lake Pichola is at the top of my list. With its mesmerising sunset & scenic beauty, it grabs the attention of several tourists. A great way to enjoy this place is a boat ride around the lake. Another best thing about this place is that some of the most renowned luxury hotels like The Oberoi Udaivilas, The Taj Lake Palace, Jagmandir Island Palace, and The Leela Palace are located right in the middle of this lake. It makes this place a much more desirable spot for tourists to visit. One of Udaipur’s famous religious spots, Karni Mata Temple, is also near Lake Pichola, and one can have a fun experience visiting this place with a ropeway.
Fateh Sagar Lake
The second spot on the list is at the city’s heart, called Fateh Sagar Lake. The beauty of this place is at its peak during the monsoon when it overflows. It is the centre of attraction for most of the tourists & one of the favourite spots for most Udaipurites. Alongside the lake, you can enjoy local street food from the Chowpatty. The best part about this place is that you can enjoy speed boating, camel riding, cycling, and many other activities specially meant for tourists. In addition, if you want to try something new, you can also visit Under The Sun Aquarium, located right on the pal side of Fateh Sagar Lake.
Ambrai Ghat
The third place on the list is Ambrai Ghat, a place of natural beauty. You will fall in love with the soothing vibes that this place offers. While streaming through the old veins of the old city area, it is one of the best places to enjoy at the time of sunset. But I would advise you to take a two-wheeler to avoid unnecessary traffic.
Gangaur Ghat
The next on the list is Gangaur Ghat. It is one of the main ghats of Udaipur. Situated on the banks of Lake Pichola, it is near Bagore Ki Haveli, in the vicinity of the old city. This place is the prime location to capture beautiful pictures of the sunset. In addition to this, if you want to know more about the culture of Rajasthan, you can visit Bagore Ki Haveli, which holds some major historical significance.
Badi Lake
The next on the list is Badi Lake, one of Udaipur’s hidden gems. This place is quite a bit away from the main city, but the view from this place is worth watching. Besides enjoying the lake view, you can also enjoy some tracking at Bahubali Hills. But it is my friendly advice that you visit this place either in the morning or before sunset as the route to this place doesn’t have proper lighting at night with chances of coming across wild animals.
Sajjan Garh (Monsoon Palace)
Last but definitely not least is Sajjan Garh Fort, also known as the monsoon palace. It is located in the Aravalli Hills, and with its scenic beauty, it attracts the attention of tourists. The best thing about this place is enjoying a panoramic view of Udaipur. Also, the Sajjangarh biodiversity park is known for the abundance of unique plant, bird and animal species from all across the globe that attracts tourists the most.
These are some popular spots worth visiting for anyone coming to Udaipur and are sure to provide a memorable experience. So, this is it for now, but stay tuned for the next blog, where I will come up with more scenic places in and around Udaipur.
